Finalist for Local Contemporary Art Prize, Sunshine Coast!

I'm thrilled to announce I've been selected as a finalist for the Local Contemporary Art Prize from Caloundra Regional Art Gallery.

As one of 40 out of 280 entrants, it's exciting to have this painting feature in the exhibition: Reflections on Here and Now.

"A weatherboard home surrounded by dense tropical foliage, peeking across a snippet of water. This painting, loosely based on a home in Eumundi, was flanked by greenery, with one prominent palm tree to its front. It spoke of long humid days hearing the insects and frogs chirrup in chorus, and the occasional kookaburra in the distance. It’s a home built sympathetically within its environment, a respectful jostling with its green neighbours for light and space. A symbol of how humans and nature can carefully co-exist."
